The Bedfordshire and Luton Wellbeing Festival is now in its third year and a number of events will run from May 3 to October 10 coinciding with World Mental Health Day. The aim of the festival is to promote mental wellbeing across the community and challenge the stigma that exists towards mental illness.Fest is Best for Mental Wellbeing
The free festival is jam packed full of events, activities and excitement and will be promoting mental wellbeing whilst challenging stigma and discrimination as part of the national campaign, 'Time to Change', England's most ambitious programme to end discrimination faced by people who experience mental health problems. May 3 May Day Fair, Leighton Buzzard May 31 Luton Carnival, Wardown Park, Luton June 19 Flitwick Funday, Millenium Park, Flitwick June 27 Ampthill Gala, Ampthill Park, Ampthill June 10 All Being Well Event, St Georges Square, Luton July 11 July 31 Canal Festival, Linslade September 4-5 Woodworks Festival, Marston Bedford River Festival The 2010 River Festival is the biggest free event in the region – and second only to the Notting Hill Carnival nationally. The team will attend the event to promote mental wellbeing and 11 members will take part in the annual Dragonboat Race.
July 17 Bedford River Festival, Bedford July 18 Bedford River Festival, Bedford World Mental Health Day- Lets Get Moving As part of the national Time to Change Campaign, "Lets Get Moving" will bring people together on World Mental Health Day (10 October 2010) to get active and challenge the stigma and discrimination which is often associated with mental health.The aim is to get people to come together, get to know one another and break down the stigma around mental health.
